A Perilous Adventure

Chapter XXII
Don Quixote and Sancho remain three days with the newlyweds, and then set off with the licentiate’s cousin, a humanist and writer of books, to lead them to the cave of Montesinos for another extreme adventure.  At the cave, Quixote is the first to be lowered into the abyss, but after some time, Sancho and their guide pull Quixote up who appears to be sleeping; and when they are successful in waking him, he is prepared to give them a testament of all that he witnessed in the depths below.
